does anyone know anything about DIGITAL IMAGING?

lately, i've been thinking about going into graphic design as my major in college....but even more recently, i came across the title of "digital imaging." i was wondering if this would be the correct title for me? are they the same thing (graphic design and digital imaging)? IF ANYONE KNOWS ANYTHING THAT COULD HELP, PLEASE LET ME KNOW!
